The Process
It’s been a while! We’ve been busy working on a few projects and looking at options for what’s next. Business never stops! For this blog, we wanted to introduce an overview of the process of purchasing a product from us. We are a new business, so we do appreciate any customer insight, feedback, or questions you may have. It will help us learn and grow with you!
Let’s say you stumble across a picture of a super sleek and modern looking bowl with fire coming out of it and you look up and see our Facebook page. You click on the page and it brings you to view product pictures and information. You see where we’re going with this? Okay, fast forward and you contact us. As a team, we will work with you to find what style fire feature you like best for your space, or maybe you have an idea not fire related in mind, either way, we’ll figure out what your vision is and work with you to narrow down the specifics. We can go over colors, ignition upgrades, the fire media options there are out there, sizes, etc. Now please remember, Uncommon Concrete is only recommending the ignition and media options we have listed, but you are in no way required to purchase those through us. Just want a bowl without all the dress up? Let us know! Options are endless at the end of the day.
Back to the point. We go over all the options with you, so please ask all the questions. No question is a stupid question. Once we finalize the details, we’ll give you a quote to go over the specifics of your order and what the total is. If you agree to that, we do require a 50% down payment to get the initial materials and start the process. From there, it takes about two weeks to fabricate the fire bowl! Again, keep in mind that we are not fabricating the ignition or fire media, so those may take longer than the two week time it takes us to make the concrete piece. We are just the concrete, but we’ll help you dress it up with trusted add-ons. We will also be as upfront about the timeline as we can and keep you updated during this process! If you decide on another concrete product, it is still about a two-week timeframe, but we will let you know ahead of time if that changes. Now, dependent on the concrete product you purchase, delivery and installation may differ. If you purchase a fire bowl, we will deliver the bowl and anything additional you’ve purchased with us to your location. We are in the process of setting up long distance delivery as well so stay tuned! The artisans of Uncommon Concrete are not licensed plumbers, so they are unable to complete the gas hook up for your fire feature. We can help recommend a licensed plumber in your area or if you have someone you prefer, we are happy to meet with them if needed. We have had customers who were concerned about their current meters being able to withstand the additional BTU’s, and in this case we would again recommend contacting a licensed plumber or heating and cooling company. We are not licensed to give any tips, we are only the concrete.
If you happen to purchase another type of product, we will go over the delivery and installation at our initial meeting and after learning about the location. Once the product is delivered, we will provide our warranty information, your final invoice, collect final payment, and provide copies of any other necessary documents. It doesn’t stop there though! Contact us any time you have questions or concerns on your new product. Concrete like this is new to Wisconsin and there’s a lot to learn but we’re here for you! I can tell you, the team is excited to meet you and help you with all your concrete needs!
